The Steam Deck has a relatively low starting price point, fairly similar to that of the Nintendo Switch at around $399. Both were widely unavailable for the most part during their release, and prices were driven up by scalpers as bots quickly bought out any available inventory. This has, in part, lead to comparisons to the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, both of which released in November 2020. Since its recent announcement, the console has already garnered plenty of attention thanks to its graphical capabilities and the fact that it will allow players to access their entire Steam library through a handheld device. The Steam Deck, Valve's portable gaming PC, will be releasing December 2021 with pre-orders starting on July 16.
